Haughton Middle School

Is On the Move

It's getting real!

Furniture is being moved into the new Haughton Middle School as finishing touches are made to the new school that will open its doors for the 2017-18 academic year. Soon, teachers will be able to set up their classrooms.

The school will accommodate 1,500 sixth through eighth graders, making it the largest middle school in Bossier Parish and the second largest overall, next to Airline High. The gymnasium alone is a sight to see, with seating for more than 1,660 people. It will certainly be a great asset to the Haughton community.

It is a source of pride and joy for HMS Principal Richard Warren, and with good reason. He was showing a television reporter around the school just recently as movers scurried around, unloading trucks full of desks, chairs and furnishings.

Mark your calendar now for the ribbon cutting. It will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 24 and everyone is invited to come see the Buccaneers' new home. It’s an event not to miss!
