Waller to Get Makers Space, Thanks to KTBS Grant
Bossier Schools STEAM Facilitator Christy Bucker was in for a big surprise when she went to visit Waller Elementary.
Bucker thought she was stopping by to observe a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) activity, only to learn she won the $1,000 KTBS/Barksdale Federal Credit Union "One Class At A Time" grant she wrote to fund a Makers Space at Waller.
Next year, students will have all the materials to create to their heart's desire, not realizing they are learning engineering design in the process. They will also integrate writing exercises into the Makers Space.
Bossier Schools thanks KTBS and Barksdale Federal Credit Union for choosing Mrs. Bucker's project. It's a real win for our Waller Wildcats!
