First Lady Sends Books to Stockwell Place Elementary

Stockwell Place received a gift that no other elementary school in Louisiana has; a signed set of books from the nation’s First Lady, Melania Trump.

Librarian Kim Howell was on the receiving end of a collection of Dr. Seuss books from Mrs. Trump. Inside the front cover, the books were engraved "From the Library of the First Lady" and included her signature.

You can bet “The Cat In the Hat” is getting checked out a lot these days!

Bulldogs Bolster Relief Efforts

Paws up to the W.T. Lewis Bulldogs for helping with hurricane relief efforts.

Students and faculty raised more than $830 to assist the American Red Cross with its disaster relief efforts in the wake of all the devastation following Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria that wreaked havoc in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico.

The Bulldogs have big hearts when it comes to helping others and demonstrating the “Power of We.”

Elm Grove Elementary Reaches Out to Help Texas School

Recovery from Hurricane Harvey is slow in Refugio, Texas, but thanks to Elm Grove Elementary, the local elementary school is getting some much-needed assistance.

The Elm Grove Gators held a jeans day to raise funds and donated $500 to the only elementary school in the small Texas town. The eye wall of Harvey centered over the town of 2,800 for nine hours and damaged nearly every building.

Elm Grove’s donation of gift cards gave Refugio Elementary principal Twyla Thomas reason to smile, which was certainly a welcome surprise.

Yes, the Gators are helping hearts hundreds of miles away. Just call it the “Power of We.” Way to go, Elm Grove Elementary!

Legacy Loaded Up and Delivered

Thanks to the Legacy Bears, this trailer was fully loaded when it set out for Houser Elementary in Conroe, Texas over fall break.

Legacy students and faculty adopted five families from Houser Elementary, who lost their homes and everything they owned in Hurricane Harvey. They collected everything from clothing and bedding to cooking supplies and household items.

Over fall break, faculty members took the donations to Conroe, in an effort to fulfill these families' needs. What a blessing Legacy Elementary is to our neighbors in need!
