Three Students Represent Bossier Schools At JA Showcase

A trio of Bossier Parish students were in the spotlight at the Junior Achievement (JA) Return on Investment Showcase held recently to highlight the accomplishments of this year’s program.

Amire Reddix, a second grader who attends R.V. Kerr Elementary, Geovanna Jimenez, a fourth grader at Meadowview Elementary, and Noah Albright, an eighth grade student at Cope Middle, represented Bossier Schools. The three displayed project boards and Reddix and Jimenez were guest speakers at a luncheon that highlighted what they learned in the JA program at their school.

Junior Achievement teaches students from kindergarten to 12th grade about financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. JA offers age-appropriate programs to 8,000 local students with the held of community volunteers.

School Uniforms Are Needed to Help Others

Have school uniforms your child won't be able to use or wear next year? Please consider donating them to benefit other Bossier families in need.

Northpoint Community Church is once again organizing a huge uniform giveaway over the summer to benefit students in north and south Bossier.

Uniforms can be dropped off at Bossier Educational Service Center at 2900 Douglas Drive in Bossier City from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. They can also be taken by Northpoint Community Church at 4204 Airline Drive in Bossier City from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.

Thanks for your consideration!
